THE ROBOT AS A PLATFORM-GOOGLE UPGRADE THEIR HARDWARE AMBITIONS

Image
Google has been acquiring robotics companies in the first hands during 2013, and it is a revelation of how they are planning the Google of tomorrow, something of interest for almost all brands. Here is my brief take: Why did Google decide to invest in robotics? Robots, like smartphones, are platforms for products and services. Data-obsessed organizations, such as Google, must make sure they are not in the user’s “last mile”, and that means getting involved in the physical world with the hardware. Google is constantly moving from its position in the ether with search algorithms to a more connected physical world, from its smartphones and the Android operating system to its work in Android @ Home. The robotics developed here is essentially based on the same trajectory: control and influence in the ‘last mile’, where the data is obtained from the physical world and the activities carried out are based on the intelligence of cloud networks and edges. It’s a good option for Google, and ...

ROBOTS WON'T STEAL ALL THE JOBS  — BUT THEY WILL TRANSFORM THE WAY WE WORK

Image
INTRODUCTION You’re probably familiar with panic books (such as Martin Ford’s Rise of the Robots: Technology and the Threat of an Unemployed Future) and headlines (What Happens When Robots Replace Workers?) From HBR that proclaims that the future of employment is grim to the rise of automation technologies. In other words, according to the meme, the robots are taking all the jobs. By “robots” we refer to all forms of automation technologies, including those that perform physical tasks, intellectual tasks or customer service tasks (which combine elements of physical and intellectual activities, but which constitute a different category in the era of client)). In fact, some impressive new technologies are becoming incredibly useful in a variety of organizational settings. rpa training in chennai Take, for example, the Robot Baxter from Rethink Robotics, which is seen in the video below. Unlike traditional industrial robots, it is sure that the workers are close to Baxter, and i...

DIFFERENTIATE YOUR DIGITAL BUSINESS WITH A DEVICE INNOVATION LAB

Image
Innovation is a big problem. Ask my colleague Martin Gill, who directs Forrester’s digital business transformation research. But I & O leaders have their own role in innovation: specifically, the use of similar devices and technologies to drive business results. I interviewed companies from a variety of verticals (travel, retail, energy, clothing, financial services) and spoke with innovative leaders in innovation theory to help I & O leaders solve several problems: How can we innovate using technologies from interaction? Customer oriented? For example, mobile devices, robotics, digital signage and virtual reality (VR). rpa training in chennai How can we establish a technological innovation laboratory (DIL) to help our company’s technology and business leaders develop technology-based and customer-obsessed strategies? And what are the success factors for the DIL, from the mission statement to the staffing and key performance indicators? In the context of my...

THE EVENT HORIZON OF IN-STORE RETAIL AUTOMATION

Image
Introduction It came out of nowhere: a mechanical voice turned off with electronic tones said “Hi, there it is”. I was furiously approaching myself and other eTail West attendees: over 7'6 “, a fiberglass robot extracted from a Transformers Film with bright blue eyes and dark, mechanical fingers that seemed to have 300 psi of hydraulic power, Enough to crush a car. Of course, this robot was a suit drenched in ContentSquare with a person inside, but the subsequent conversation was surreal. “Can I take a picture?” It should support the couple. “Certainly, take a step here for a good shot,” in an English staccato with a mysterious and deep mechanical voice. The neurons in my head started firing. rpa training in chennai Suppose this robot was real? The technology is mainly here. We have natural language processing, basic functionality of artificial intelligence, robotic prostheses, centralized controllers. Now, how about we give it a little more capacity? Maybe we even manage...

APPLYING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND ROBOTICS TO THE CUSTOMER JOURNEY

Image
INTRODUCTION Infrastructure and operations (I & O) leaders have traditionally directed and implemented automation technologies to reduce costs. But the new opportunity for automation in the customer era is the commitment: to implement technologies that help customers automatically receive a better service or provide a better service. Working with marketing and business leaders, technologists are playing a critical and growing role in driving tests, piloting, implementing and measuring automation technologies such as  AI, customer self-service solutions and robotics. Among digital predators, those companies that seek to redefine business rules using emerging technologies, automation is fast becoming a core competency: as robots replace or work together with employees facing the customer, automation is achieved . The client’s contracting service is always more critical.  We anticipate that, by 2027, the US economy will UU It will lose 17% of jobs, but will a...
